Episode 11: KATHY SMITH!!!

The newest ep of the Fit Bottomed Girls podcast is ready to download/stream now!

Whoa Nellie! We have scored one amazing interview with the legendary fitness queen Kathy Smith talking about her incredible career starting with being one of the first at home aerobics records (yes, we actually mean vinyl!) to the millions of VHS tapes, DVDs and workout gear she has sold since the 80s. In addition to being one of the most inspiring fitness gurus of all time, she also is the mom of an Olympian (daughter Kate Grace competed in track in Rio!)

Forgive us if we sound a bit giddy in this episode as we were so knocked out by her cool, down-to-earth demeanor and sage wisdom -- she is the REAL DEAL!

Among the plethora of topics covered in this ep:

  • Margo, Jenn and Kristen talk about our favorite workout superstars we worshipped back in the VHS/DVD days.
  • The sudden deaths of both of Kathy’s parents at a young age and how she found therapy in running
  • The bad advice of doctors in the 70s who did not believe women should be running in marathons
  • Being one of the frontrunners of the aerobics industry in the early 80s
  • The way her daughter’s time in Rio inspires her own views on “winning” and “losing”
  • Her secrets for staying in shape in your 60s
  • Her views on body image and if there has been any improvement over the years in how women feel about their bodies

Be sure to follow Kathy  on Twitter @kathyfit, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.  Also be sure to subscribe to Kathy’s podcast as well!
