For more than 15 years, millions have turned to the Fit Bottomed Girls for their fun, fresh, and revolutionary approach to women’s health and fitness without the oh-so-common heaping side of diet culture BS. The Fit Bottomed Girls Podcast continues that legacy by educating and empowering women to be active, athletic and adventurous through the ups and downs of motherhood, midlife, and menopause. You should know: We don’t diet, we fuel our goals. We don’t just exercise for the scale, we work out and train for better quality of life. And we don’t invent or perpetuate shame-based descriptions of normal female body parts because we believe that fit bottoms can come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. Here, we share real, relatable stories from women just like you as well as evidence-based strategies from our network of women’s health and fitness experts to support you as you pursue your big, brave goals and build your very own fit-bottomed life.

Episode 14  with Meb Keflezighi

Are you ready for a super cool interview with a superstar runner? Well, you are in luck because in this episode we talk with long distance champion Meb Keflezighi who completely charmed us with his sweetness and sincerity.

From his early days growing up in war-torn Eritrea, Africa, to running (and winning) the Boston marathon a year after the deadly bombings --- Meb’s unflagging spirit, hard work and determination have propelled him to the top of the running world while also staying grounded and devoted to charitable works.

As Meb was making a round of appearances on behalf of KT Tape right before the annual New York Marathon, the Fit Bottomed Girls were lucky enough to ask him a few questions and get some insight on how he stays so steady and focused.

Topics covered in our interview:

  • Meb and Kristen bonding before the call.
  • What was going through his mind when he crossed the finish line in Boston.
  • The meaning behind his motto “Run to win.”
  • The time he managed to perform a few push-ups at the finish line at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the surprising reason he tried for one more shot at representing his country.
  • His charity work with the Meb Foundation which helps those in need to find balance in health, education and fitness.
  • The challenges he faces training over the age of 40.
  • How his parents sacrificed to make sure Meb and his siblings achieve the American dream.

Plus, Margo, Jenn and Kristen discuss their favorite mantras to help them stay focused in the face of adversity.
