The Fit Bottomed Girls Podcast

For more than 15 years, millions have turned to the Fit Bottomed Girls for their fun, fresh, and revolutionary approach to women’s health and fitness without the oh-so-common heaping side of diet culture BS. The Fit Bottomed Girls Podcast continues that legacy by educating and empowering women to be active, athletic and adventurous through the ups and downs of motherhood, midlife, and menopause. You should know: We don’t diet, we fuel our goals. We don’t just exercise for the scale, we work out and train for better quality of life. And we don’t invent or perpetuate shame-based descriptions of normal female body parts because we believe that fit bottoms can come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. Here, we share real, relatable stories from women just like you as well as evidence-based strategies from our network of women’s health and fitness experts to support you as you pursue your big, brave goals and build your very own fit-bottomed life.

The newest ep of the Fit Bottomed Girls podcast is ready to download/stream now!

Episode 15 with Jeanette Jenkins

Our little ol’ podcast all of sudden gets more glamorous with one of Hollywood’s most sought-after celebrity trainers -- Jeannette Jenkins! How fancy is her client list? Jeanette has trained everyone from Alicia Keys to P!nk to Kelly Rowland  and so many more.

In addition to her personal training, Jeanette runs her own online fitness community at The Hollywood Trainer.com which helps members get healthy, eat right and feel better based on her more than 25 years of experience in fitness, health and nutrition.

On top of her many accomplishments Jeanette also ran her very first marathon (the New York marathon!) in 2016 to raise money for Keys’ charity that she co-founded Keep a Child Alive. The non-profit helps provide healthcare, medicine, and support to children and families affected by HIV.

Topics covered in our interview:

  • Her years living in public housing in Oshawa, Canada, and how it shaped her desire to be both generous to others in need and fueled her independent streak.
  • How she makes sure all of her business ventures have a charity component.
  • The time a man told her she would never be able to become a certified financial planner and how she keeps negative people at distance.
  • The reasoning behind her motto “Your heart is more important than your hair.”
  • The science behind HIIT workouts and how fat is burned efficiently afterwards.
  • Why she wishes more trainers would pay attention to risks and rewards before trying borderline dangerous exercises with clients.
  • Her worries about running her first marathon and how she plans to heal afterwards (Hint -- lots of foam rolling and stretching!)

Be sure to follow Jeanette on Twitter @JeanetteJenkins, Facebook, and Instagram.

Plus Jenn, Kristen and Margo talk about the Fit Bottomed Girls philosophy on diets and weight-loss.

I am so thrilled that you interviewed Jeanette. I love her and have utilized all her dvd's over the years and they have kept me in great shape. She even inspired me to attend the Institute of Integrative Nutrition so I could become a certified holistic health coach. I also love you ladies so this was such a treat. Keep up the great work!!
